Since 2022, Red Stick Leaders for Students has supported local leaders who put children first.

Here’s what they’ve done for families in our community:

• 14,000 fewer children are in struggling schools. Every school in Louisiana gets a letter grade from A to F. These leaders worked to make sure far fewer kids are stuck in schools rated D or F. They realigned district schools, held charter schools accountable, and used teaching methods with a strong track record.

• More than 2,000 students moved to better schools. When schools were realigned, these children got a seat in a stronger school.

• More money is going into classrooms. By making better use of school buildings, the district now puts nearly $7 million more each year into classrooms for the youngest students who need the most help.

• You can see where the money goes. The budget is now explained in plain, parent-friendly guides, and every district contract is posted online.

• Kids are reading better. EBR Schools has been recognized nationally for reading growth and for helping students catch up after falling behind.

• Teachers got their biggest raise ever. Great teachers make a difference for our kids, and this raise shows they’re valued.

This significant progress is just the start of the work.
